About Vimorby

Simple, playful image tools that respect your privacy.

Vimorby started from a simple frustration: most online image converters make you upload your photos to someone else’s server. Then you have to trust that they’re deleted, that they aren’t analysed, and that the connection is safe. For a task your own device can already do, that trade-off doesn’t make sense.

How it works

Modern browsers include fast, well-tested image codecs. Vimorby uses them directly. When you choose a format, your browser decodes the image, Vimorby crops, resizes or flattens it on a canvas inside a background worker, and the browser encodes the result. The file goes from your disk to your browser’s memory and back to your downloads folder.

  • No uploads, no image storage, no database.
  • No accounts and no tracking scripts.
  • A strict security policy that stops the page from sending data to other servers.

Honest by design

Browsers differ. Some can display a format but can’t create it, and phones have less memory than laptops. Vimorby tests what your browser can really do and only offers those options. If a file is damaged, too large or animated, it tells you plainly instead of producing a broken result.

The name and the logo

The “Pixel Shift” mark shows two image tiles: a tilted outline for the image you start with, and a solid tile with a check mark for the result. One shifts into the other.

What’s next

Arabic and Somali versions are planned, along with optional on-device tools such as background removal. Any future feature that would need a server will be clearly labelled and opt-in. For now, try the image converter or read the FAQ.
